SP Aditya said that on Friday, a police team led by Station House Officer Nagjiram was conducting naka checking on the Pratapgarh route when a suspicious Swift car (RJ 27 CE 4636) was spotted. On being signalled to stop, the occupants appeared nervous. During a detailed search of the vehicle, the police recovered the contraband.

Hidden in Gear Box Compartment

The accused had created a special hidden cavity beneath the gear box to conceal the drugs. Upon opening it, police found two plastic packets containing brown sugar.

Two accused — Radheshyam alias Raju Nai (38) and Karu Lal Gayari (45), both residents of Kotdi — were arrested on the spot.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that the consignment was allegedly handed over to them by Aamir Khan alias Dulha Bhai, a resident of Arnod currently staying in Kotdi. The drugs were reportedly taken out from his Creta car parked outside his under-construction house. The consignment was to be delivered to an unidentified person near Udaipur on the highway.

Police have launched a search for the main supplier, Aamir Khan.

In the operation, SHO Nagjiram was assisted by ASI Manohar Lal and Head Constable Bapulal. Constables Gomsingh, Pratapsingh, Anuj and driver constable Nanduraj Singh were also part of the team.

The seized brown sugar and the vehicle used for transportation have been confiscated. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act and further investigation is underway.
