Washington, July 28: U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Monday that his administration is rapidly replenishing America’s weapon stockpiles. He acknowledged that the military aid provided to Ukraine during former President Joe Biden’s tenure had depleted the stockpiles but assured that the U.S. is fully prepared for any future conflicts.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while en route to Michigan, Trump dismissed concerns about potential ammunition shortages in the event of a major conflict, particularly in the Middle East.
When asked if he was worried about dwindling weapon supplies, Trump replied, “No, we have the money. We have plenty of ammunition. Different kinds.”
He recognized that the U.S. has supplied significant military equipment to Ukraine but emphasized that his administration is now swiftly restocking these reserves.
“You know, Biden gave a lot to Ukraine. So we are replenishing it, but we have plenty. We have a lot of medium-range weapons as well. I mean, so much that in any situation we can use, we have far more than that,” Trump stated.
Comparing the current situation to his previous term, Trump noted that he had inherited a depleted stockpile from the Obama administration, which he later increased.
“When I left office, the stockpile was fully stocked. When I came in after Obama, they hadn’t bought ammunition. We had very little. And I increased it,” he said.
He added, “Now, immediately after I left, they gave a huge portion of it to Ukraine. I mean, such a large number that has never been seen before.”
Trump mentioned that his administration is working extensively to strengthen the U.S. defense industry, with several new production centers being established. “We are ramping it up very quickly. Factories are being built. A lot of equipment is being produced, especially for Patriot missiles. Every contractor is currently building four to five factories,” he noted.
Despite the need to replenish some modern weapon stockpiles, Trump asserted that the U.S. military remains in a strong position. “We are in a very good position. But for some more modern weapons, we would definitely like to keep more. Biden has given away a lot of these,” he concluded.
