MICHIGAN, Oct 26: Donald Trump made a controversial comment about Nicki Minaj’s figure during a rally in Michigan, prompting him to apologize afterward. While addressing the crowd, Trump remarked, “By the way, I looked at a beautiful ass before… Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss,” before calling her on stage to speak.
Minaj appeared at the rally in a Gucci outfit and expressed her support for Trump, stating he has “changed the energy of the country.” She led the crowd in chants for Trump and other Republican candidates, emphasizing the importance of their election. Trump praised her appearance as well, saying, “She never looked more beautiful,” and expressed hope that she wasn’t insulted by his earlier comment.
Following the rally, Trump acknowledged the inappropriateness of his remark, saying during an interview that he did not mean to offend Minaj. The rapper has been a vocal supporter of Trump, aligning with him on various issues, despite occasionally criticizing his policies.
The rally marked a tight Senate race in Michigan between Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers. Amidst the campaigning, Trump also made controversial statements regarding El-Sayed’s background, which were criticized as Islamophobic.
Minaj’s support for Trump has raised eyebrows, given her celebrity status and past critiques of his administration. She has been involved in significant political discussions, positioning herself as a prominent supporter within Trump’s celebrity endorsers.
“We really need all these great people to be elected, because this is a major turning point for our country,” Minaj stated at the rally.
