Track Disruption on Lahabon-Simultala Rail Line Causes Train Diversions

Jamui, December 29: Rail operations on the Jasidih-Jhajha section under Asansol division of East Railway have been severely affected due to a track obstruction in Jamui district, Bihar. In response, the railway administration has made major route changes for trains scheduled on December 29, with some earlier trains also being controlled and diverted.

According to the railways, the Kolkata-Darbhanga Express (15233) on December 29 will run via Bardhaman-Khana-Rampurhat-Gumani-Bhagalpur-Munger route, with stops at Rampurhat, Sahibganj, and Bhagalpur.

The Tatanagar-Buxar Express (18183) on December 29 has been diverted through Pradhan Khanta-Dhanbad-Gaya-Patna route, with a halt at Gaya station.

To provide relief to local passengers, the Deoghar-Patna MEMU (63209) on December 29 will run from Jhajha instead of cancellation, while the Patna-Deoghar MEMU (63210) will be short terminated at Jhajha. Additionally, the Jasidih-Kiul MEMU (63573) on December 29 will also commence from Jhajha without cancellation.

Some trains running on earlier dates have also undergone changes. The Jasidih-Pune Weekly Express (11428) on December 28 is being operated via Deoghar-Banka-Bhagalpur-Kiul route. The Ara-Kolkata Garib Rath Express (13128) on December 28 has been diverted through Kiul-Bhagalpur-Gumani-Rampurhat-Bardhaman route.

Furthermore, the Thane-Tatanagar Express (18182) on December 27 will run via Pradhan Khanta-Sitarampur-Asansol route. The railway administration has urged passengers to check the latest train status before travelling.

It is reported that late Saturday night, a goods train derailed near Simultala station on the Howrah-Kiul rail section in Jamui district. Eight coaches went off the tracks, disrupting operations on both up and down lines of this section. Upon receiving information, ART teams from Asansol, Madhupur, and Jhajha reached the site. Efforts are underway to restore this railway route promptly.
