Udaipur : Three young girls died after drowning in a river while bathing 500 meters away from their home. The deceased include two sisters and a cousin. Villagers passing by the riverbank noticed clothes but couldn’t find the children. Upon suspicion, they looked towards the river and saw three bodies floating in the water. The incident took place in the Sayra area, about 75 km from Udaipur.
Ward member Motilal informed that the incident occurred in Mer ka Khet village, a tribal area about 35 km from Sayra headquarters. Om Prakash Garasia, who resides in the village, has three daughters. One of his younger daughters was with her mother in the field, while the other two daughters, Reena Kumari (4), her younger sister Savita Kumari (2.5 years), and their aunt Pyaribai’s daughter Jhanvi Garasia (4), daughter of Karmaraam Garasia, were together at home. Pyaribai’s house is 3 km away. One of the girls, Jhanvi, had come there to play.
Around 6 pm on Tuesday evening, the three innocent girls reached the river bank, 500 meters away from their home. While playing, they stepped into the river and drowned. At around 7 pm, Mansharam, a villager passing by the river bank, was the first to spot the bodies of the girls. He then informed the police.
