Tension prevails in Chittorgarh after youth killed over fishing dispute

Udaipur : Tension prevailed for some hours at Parsoli police station on Sunday when a community staged protest over the death of a youth who was beaten up by few persons in Khedi village on September 17. The youth was admitted in MB hospital, Udaipur who died on saturday night. The body was handed over to family members after postmortem,however, tension prevailed around 4 pm when they took the ambulance straight to the police station and demanded stern action against the people involved in the murder. 

Community men claimed it was a case of mob lynching with many people involved in the murder while the police said the dispute had been long standing one over fishing in Ruparel river. The deceased Azhar Khan son of Shamsher Khan, his friends Anwar Khan, Shahnawaj Khan and Naushad all residents of Bicchor had gone for fishing at Ruparel river flowing between Nal and Khedi villages. The youths were chased by some youth working in the fields. While all the others managed to escape, Azhar was nabbed by the men who thrashed him.

The victim was taken to Chittorgarh hospital and later referred to Udaipur who died on saturday night. A murder case has been registered against unidentified people and police has detained some persons who are being interrogated. Sources claimed, the dispute between the two parties had been for a long time as there was a temple near the river. The youths caught fish and sorted them in the locality, they left the waste there which had caused heated arguments on previous occasions.
