Team India Clinches Victory in Super Over

New Delhi, July 31 (Udaipur Kiran): In a nail-biting finish, India emerged victorious in the third and final T20 match of the series, winning in the Super Over and completing a clean sweep against Sri Lanka. India was set a modest target of 3 runs in the Super Over, which Suryakumar Yadav effortlessly achieved by hitting a boundary on the first ball. Washington Sundar’s exceptional bowling in the Super Over, conceding just 2 runs and taking two wickets, was crucial in India’s win.

Earlier, India was put to bat first after losing the toss and managed to score 137 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. This was the first time in the series that India’s batting line-up appeared shaky. Shubman Gill scored 39 runs, Riyan Parag added 26, and Washington Sundar contributed 25 runs. For Sri Lanka, Maheesh Theekshana took three wickets, while Wanindu Hasaranga claimed two. Vikramsinghe, Asitha Fernando, and Ramesh Mendis each secured one wicket.

In response, Sri Lanka also scored 137 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Kusal Perera top-scored with 46 runs, followed by Kusal Mendis with 43, and Pathum Nissanka with 26. India’s spin quartet played a vital role, with Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Rinku Singh, and Suryakumar Yadav each taking two wickets. Notably, Rinku and Suryakumar bowled just one over each.
