New Delhi, August 12 (Udaipur Kiran): The Supreme Court has rejected a petition seeking to postpone the UGC-NET exam scheduled for August 21. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud stated that since 9 lakh candidates are set to take the exam, they cannot be left in uncertainty.
The petition was filed by Praveen Dabas and a few other candidates who were set to appear for the UGC-NET exam. Some students argued that the exam held in June was canceled, and a CBI investigation is ongoing. They requested that the exam be postponed until the investigation is complete.
On June 18, the UGC-NET exam was conducted, with 9 lakh candidates participating. However, after complaints of a paper leak during the June 18 exam, the central government ordered the cancellation of the exam on June 19. The government also ordered a CBI investigation into the matter.
