
Sony Xperia 5 V, which is said to be the successor to last year’s flagship Sony Xperia 5 IV, made headlines a few days ago with its promotional video. The company recently announced the release date of this smartphone.
This will be the company’s third smartphone this year, following the release of the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V. A previous report pointed out that while the Xperia 5 V will come with dual camera units on the rear, it’s likely to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
The Japanese tech giant has released a video to announce the release date of the Xperia 5 V on X. As previously mentioned, the smartphone is scheduled to go on sale September 1 at 4:00 p.m. IST (12:30 p.m. IST). However, the company hasn’t revealed any other specs or details about the upcoming phone.
According to previous reports, this smartphone will be available in three colors: black, blue and white. It is expected that there will be a dual camera unit on the rear. The Xperia 5 V’s rear camera will most likely be placed vertically on the back next to the LED flash.
The Xperia 5 V is rumored to have a matte finish and a Sony logo on the back. The phone is expected to feature a 2nd generation Snapdragon 8 processor.
In early May this year, Sony introduced the Xperia 1 V and the Xperia 10 V. The Xperia 1 V was launched in the European market with a starting price of US$1,399 (about Rs.114,700). This smartphone was released in two colors: green and black. Meanwhile, the Xperia 10 V has a base price of €449 (about Rs 40,300) and is available in four colors: black, lavender, sage green and white.
