New Delhi : Home Minister Amit Shah and union Minister of Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs Smriti Irani called on President Droupadi Murmu on Friday morning.
Irani was accomapanied by Minister of State for Women & Child Development And AYUSH Dr Mahendra Munjpara and union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla.

The ministers met the President when the Bharatiya Janata Party has been raising the issue of her alleged insult by Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury who on Wednesday had referred to the the President as ‘rashtrapatni’. The BJP has been attacking the Congress party in the Parliament and demanding an apology from Chowdhury.
Irani raised the issue of the Congress insulting women at higher posts and demanded an apology from Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Chowdhury claimed that it was a mistake and a ‘slip of tongue’ and has since apologised on social media.
