Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 is shaping up to be a major leap forward in the foldable smartphone space, boasting a significantly thinner design, narrower bezels, and a wider display footprint compared to its predecessors.

According to reliable leaker Ice Universe, the Fold 7 will not only be slimmer but could potentially set a world record for thinness in a foldable phone. New dimension leaks suggest substantial changes to both ergonomics and visual appeal.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 vs Fold 6: Key Dimension Changes
When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will measure 158.4 x 143.1mm, making it taller and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s 153.5 x 132.6mm dimensions. This makes the Fold 7 slightly larger than last year’s Fold SE (157.9 x 142.6mm), further emphasizing Samsung’s shift toward a more expansive foldable display.
However, the most striking change lies in its thickness. Samsung is reportedly cutting the open-device thickness from 5.6mm on the Fold 6 to just 3.9mm on the Fold 7 — a major engineering achievement. That’s even slimmer than the Fold SE, which stood at 4.9mm when unfolded.
Drastically Reduced Bezels Improve Display Immersion
Ice Universe also revealed that the internal display bezels are being reduced significantly — from 1.9mm on the Fold 6 to around 1.0mm on the Fold 7. Meanwhile, the upcoming Flip 7 is expected to see bezels shrink to 1.2mm. These improvements bring Samsung’s foldables closer to the sleek, modern standards seen in flagship slab phones.
The reduction in bezel size is expected to provide a more immersive viewing experience and contribute to the Fold 7’s premium appeal — a major demand from longtime foldable users and critics.
More to Be Revealed in July Launch Event
Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in July 2025, with more specifications, features, and pricing to be confirmed at that time. The Fold 7 is expected to lead Samsung’s next wave of innovation in the foldable category, combining productivity, style, and portability in a slimmer, more usable form.
If these early details hold true, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could become a defining moment for the foldable market — offering a refined design that bridges the gap between innovation and everyday practicality.
