India Delivers Heavy Blow to Pakistan Along LoC: 40 Soldiers Killed, All Indian Pilots Safe in Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, May 11, 2025 — The Indian Army has confirmed a significant tactical victory under Operation Sindoor, reporting the elimination of 35–40 Pakistani soldiers along the Line of Control (LoC) in retaliation to recent ceasefire violations and cross-border provocations. While five Indian soldiers were martyred, the Army emphasized that all Indian pilots remain safe, and that the military operations were precisely targeted at terrorist infrastructure.

35–40 Pakistani soldiers

The revelations were made during an official military briefing held on Sunday, outlining the extent of India’s retaliatory actions following Pakistan’s repeated ceasefire breaches earlier this month.

Operation Sindoor: Decisive Action Against Cross-Border Terror

Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt. Gen. Rajiv Ghai provided a detailed account of the situation on the LoC between May 7 and May 10, during which intense artillery and small-arms fire exchanges occurred. “Airstrikes targeted areas of known terrorist activity, not civilian or Pakistani military infrastructure,” Ghai clarified, reaffirming that India’s focus remains solely on dismantling terrorist threats.

According to the Army, Pakistani UAVs and drones attempted to target Indian civilian and military zones on May 7. While three drones managed to land, they caused minimal damage and were promptly neutralized.

Air Superiority Maintained, Pakistani Aircraft Engaged

Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, speaking at the joint briefing, revealed that several Pakistani aircraft attempted to breach Indian airspace but were effectively intercepted. “Yes, we brought down some of their aircraft,” he stated. “The damage they have suffered is real and significant.”

Despite the air engagements, India reaffirmed that its air and ground operations remain measured and targeted. “We are not interested in escalation,” said Lt. Gen. Ghai. “Our objective is counter-terrorism, not conflict with the Pakistani military establishment.”

India Targets Radar Systems Near Lahore and Gujranwala

In a calibrated response, the Indian military also struck radar installations near Lahore and Gujranwala, which were reportedly being used to support drone-based attacks and terror infrastructure. These strikes were carried out with precision to avoid civilian casualties and demonstrate India’s enhanced strategic capabilities.

The Army underscored a key distinction in the nature of operations: “While India targeted terrorists, Pakistan retaliated by targeting Indian civilians and military infrastructure — an act that demanded a decisive response.”

A Strong Warning Against Future Ceasefire Violations

The Indian military warned that any future Pakistani ceasefire violations will be met with swift and powerful retaliation. Operation Sindoor, still ongoing in its tactical phases, has reportedly weakened several cross-border terror launchpads.

This marks one of the most significant escalations along the LoC in recent years, but Indian leadership has reiterated that the conflict is with terrorism, not with the Pakistani state or its citizens.
