Rupee drops 12 paise against USD

Mumbai, March 23 : The Rupee on Wednesday dropped further by 12 paise to close at 76.30 on brisk demand for the US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said. High fluctuation was witnessed during the day, as the local t rose by 13 paise at 76.04 in early trade. Later, it erased earlier gains and finished at 76.30, declining 12 paise as compared to its previous close. The domestic t was seen under pressure because of firm dollar against other world currencies amid negative equity market today. The Rupee t registered days high and low at 76.02 and 76.36 respectively against the US Dollar, dealer added. NV GK
