Unseasonal Warmth Grips the State as Day Temperatures Soar

Jaipur, January 30 : Rajasthan is experiencing unseasonal heat as changing wind patterns have led to a sharp rise in temperatures across the state. On Wednesday (January 29), Barmer recorded a scorching 34.4°C, marking one of the hottest January days in recent years. Other cities, including Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Dungarpur, Bhilwara, and Chittorgarh, also witnessed temperatures hovering around 30°C.

Meteorologists predict that the current warm spell will persist for another couple of days, with cooler conditions likely to return from February 2-3 as a Western Disturbance is set to impact the region.

Temperature Surge Across Rajasthan

The past 24 hours have seen clear skies and intense sunlight, driving temperatures up in almost all major cities.

In Jaipur, residents felt the heat throughout the day as the city remained under direct sunlight with rising temperatures.

Rising Nighttime Temperatures Reduce Winter Chill

  • Morning and evening cold has started to subside as minimum temperatures have increased across the state.
  • Bikaner, Churu, Chittorgarh, and Barmer recorded a 4-5°C rise in night temperatures, making nights significantly warmer than usual.
  • In Baran, Fatehpur, and Mount Abu, temperatures climbed, providing relief from the biting cold that had gripped the region earlier.

Western Disturbance to Bring Rain & Thunderstorms from February 2

According to Radheyshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Center, the next three days will remain clear and sunny. However, from February 2-3, a strong Western Disturbance is expected to affect several parts of Rajasthan, bringing rain and thunderstorms to Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Bikaner, Bharatpur, and Ajmer divisions.

With unexpected January heat and an approaching weather shift, residents should brace for fluctuating conditions in the coming days.
