Rajasthan Royals Set 226-Run Target for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026

Jaipur, May 2: Captain Riyan Parag’s impressive innings propelled Rajasthan Royals (RR) to set a formidable target of 226 runs for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. RR aims to secure the second position in the points table with a victory in this match.

Winning the toss, the 24-year-old captain Riyan Parag opted to bat first. Initially, this decision seemed to backfire as Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit a six on the first ball, was dismissed on the third ball, handing a catch to bowler Mitchell Starc for just 6 runs.

In the next over, the team lost Vaibhav Suryaanshi, who returned to the pavilion after scoring only one boundary. By the end of 1.5 overs, RR had lost two wickets for just 12 runs. From this point, Riyan Parag formed a crucial partnership of 102 runs for the third wicket with Dhruv Jurel, off 59 balls, bringing the score to 114. Jurel scored 42 runs off 30 balls, including one six and four fours.

Parag then partnered with Ravindra Jadeja for the fourth wicket, adding 53 runs in just 28 balls, strengthening the team’s score. Jadeja scored 20 runs off 14 balls before being dismissed, while Captain Parag played a brilliant innings of 90 runs off 50 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 8 fours.

Donovan Ferreira contributed significantly, adding 40 runs with Shubham Dubey for the sixth wicket in just 15 balls, helping RR cross the 200-run mark. Ferreira remained unbeaten on 47 runs off 14 balls, hitting 6 sixes and 2 fours. RR finished their innings at 225/6 in the allotted overs. For DC, Mitchell Starc claimed 3 wickets for 40 runs, while Kyle Jamieson, Axar Patel, and T Natarajan each took one wicket.
