Jaipur, May 2: Captain Riyan Parag’s impressive innings propelled Rajasthan Royals (RR) to set a formidable target of 226 runs for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. RR aims to secure the second position in the points table with a victory in this match.
Winning the toss, the 24-year-old captain Riyan Parag opted to bat first. Initially, this decision seemed to backfire as Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit a six on the first ball, was dismissed on the third ball, handing a catch to bowler Mitchell Starc for just 6 runs.
In the next over, the team lost Vaibhav Suryaanshi, who returned to the pavilion after scoring only one boundary. By the end of 1.5 overs, RR had lost two wickets for just 12 runs. From this point, Riyan Parag formed a crucial partnership of 102 runs for the third wicket with Dhruv Jurel, off 59 balls, bringing the score to 114.
