Rajasthan Police Mounted Unit Gets Two Thoroughbred Horses, DGP Thanks Colonel Garcha

Jaipur, 29 January (Udaipur Kiran): The Director General of Police Rajasthan Police, Rajiv Sharma, has expressed gratitude to retired Army officer Kuldeep Singh Garcha for gifting two high-quality Thoroughbred horses to the Rajasthan Police.

The horses, valued at around ₹11 lakh, were presented to the Rajasthan Police on 14 January 2026 and have been inducted into the police mounted unit. The contribution is expected to strengthen the mounted team and enhance its operational capabilities.

Additional Director General of Police (RAC) Rupinder Singh said that an appreciation programme was organised on 29 January 2026 at the DGP office in the Police Headquarters, where DGP Rajiv Sharma acknowledged Colonel Garcha’s contribution. He stated that such support would provide fresh impetus to the mounted unit and help further improve training standards and discipline.

On the occasion, discussions were also held regarding the formation and future development of the Rajasthan Police polo team. ADG Rupinder Singh said that the mounted police force and sporting activities are an integral part of Rajasthan Police’s proud tradition and should be promoted further.
