Rajasthan Government Increases DA and DR by 3% to 63%; 6 Lakh Employees to Get Diwali Bonus of Up to ₹7,000

Jaipur, October 31, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Rajasthan government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners by 3 percentage points. Following approval from Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, orders for the increase were issued on Friday. The government has also announced Diwali ad hoc bonuses of up to ₹7,000 for around 6 lakh employees.

Rajasthan has more than 7 lakh government employees and over 5 lakh pensioners. The DA increase will also benefit employees of Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads. The decision is expected to put an additional financial burden of around ₹820 crore on the state government.

With the latest revision, DA for employees and DR for pensioners will increase from 60% to 63%.

DA Was Increased by 2% in April

Earlier this year, the Rajasthan government increased DA and DR by 2 percentage points in April, raising the rate from 58% to 60%.

The state government has generally followed the Centre’s announcements on DA revisions, with its own decision coming after a short gap. In April, Rajasthan announced the increase five days after the Central Government’s announcement.

Monthly Salary to Increase by ₹500 to ₹4,500

The 3 percentage point increase in DA will result in different monthly benefits for government employees and officers, depending on their pay levels.

The revised benefit will vary across Pay Matrix Levels L-1 to L-24. Employees are expected to receive an additional ₹500 to ₹4,500 per month in salary, depending on their pay scale.

Revised DA Effective from July

The increased DA will be effective from July 2026. The decision will put an additional financial burden of approximately ₹820 crore on the government during the current financial year.

The DA arrears for the period from July to October will be deposited in employees’ General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts. The increased DA will be paid in cash along with the November salary.

Pensioners will receive the increased DR in cash with effect from July 1, 2026.

6 Lakh Employees to Receive Diwali Bonus of Up to ₹7,000

The state government has also approved ad hoc bonuses of up to ₹7,000 for around 6 lakh employees ahead of Diwali.

The bonus will be available only to employees covered under Pay Matrix Level L-12 and below. The decision is expected to cost the state government an additional ₹406 crore during the current financial year.

Under the payment arrangement, 75% of the bonus amount will be paid in cash, while the remaining 25% will be deposited in employees’ GPF accounts.
