Rain Threatens High-Voltage India-Pakistan T20 World Cup Match

Colombo, February 14: A high-voltage T20 World Cup 2026 match between India and Pakistan is set to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium this Sunday. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the clash, but rain poses a significant concern.

Weather forecasts indicate a 76 percent chance of rain on Sunday in Colombo, although this risk is expected to drop to 13 percent as the evening progresses, with clouds covering the sky completely.

Historically, India has had the upper hand in T20 World Cup matches against Pakistan, winning seven out of the eight encounters. Pakistan’s only victory came in 2021. India has played 15 T20 matches at the R. Premadasa Stadium since 2009, securing 11 wins and suffering just four losses.

In the Group A points table, India currently tops the standings after winning both of its initial matches. The team first defeated the USA by 29 runs and then overpowered Namibia by 93 runs.

On the other hand, Pakistan, sitting in second place in Group A, has lost both of its opening matches. They won their first match against the Netherlands by three wickets but lost to the USA by 32 runs.

Following the match against Pakistan, the Indian team will face the Netherlands on February 18, while Pakistan will take on Namibia on the same day.

Pakistan’s team comprises: Salman Ali Agha (captain), Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Nafees, Mohammed Nawaz, Mohammed Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Sam Ayub, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, and Usman Tariq.
