New Delhi, July 4 (Udaipur Kiran) — The recent rainfall in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) has provided significant relief from the heat. Rain continues to pour today as well. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rainfall forecast for 26 states today. Early this morning, the sky over Delhi-NCR was covered with dark clouds, leading to temporary darkness.
Rainfall Forecast and Weather Alerts
The IMD has predicted intermittent rain throughout the day in the national capital. In addition to Delhi, a rain alert has been issued for 26 states, including Bihar and West Bengal. Monsoon showers are currently affecting the entire country. Over the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for parts of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. The forecast indicates that similar weather conditions will persist until July 9.
In Uttar Pradesh, a warning for moderate to heavy rainfall has been issued for central regions, including Lucknow, until July 8. Eastern Uttar Pradesh may experience intense rainfall tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is expected today in Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, and nearby districts. In Bihar, a yellow alert has been issued for rainfall in nine districts, including Patna. On Wednesday, Patna recorded 2.2 millimeters of rainfall, while Barharia in Siwan recorded the highest at 235.4 millimeters.
Heavy Rainfall in Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand is also experiencing heavy rainfall. According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Department Center, heavy rains are expected in Kumaon over the next three days. The state has received 36% more rainfall than normal over the past three days. In Dehradun, 135 millimeters of rainfall was recorded within 24 hours. The Jolly Grant area recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 143 millimeters.
