Jaipur : Rajasthan is experiencing a resurgence of heavy rainfall. Several areas in Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, and Sikar districts received rainfall on Friday. Earlier, on Thursday, Pali, Chittorgarh, and Jhunjhunu received up to 3 inches of rainfall. Many other cities including Dungarpur and Udaipur also experienced rainfall.
Due to heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, the water level in Parvati, Chambal, and Kalisindh rivers is rising. Yesterday, four gates of the dam built on the Parvati river in Dholpur were opened. Even today, 26 districts are under a rain alert. Heavy rainfall is expected in many places over the next week.
Heavy Rain in 3 Districts in the Morning
Bikaner’s Napasar town experienced heavy rainfall this morning, causing inconvenience to school-going children. In Lunakaranasar, drizzling rain has been continuing since late last night. Villages in the Lunakaranasar tehsil received heavy rainfall. Similarly, heavy rainfall at 6 AM in Sri Ganganagar city caused significant inconvenience to people. Due to heavy rainfall in Ranooli and several other areas of Sikar district, waterlogging occurred.
In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 85 mm was recorded in the Rashmi area of Chittorgarh district. 70 mm of rainfall was recorded in Gudha Gaurji, Jhunjhunu, 69 mm in Udaipurwati, and 68 mm in Raypur, Pali. Areas in Churu, Hanumangarh, and Ganganagar experienced heavy rainfall yesterday afternoon. Several other districts, including Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Udaipur, Sikar, Jaipur, and Dausa, received rainfall ranging from 1 to 2 inches.
Meteorological Department’s Forecast
Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center in Jaipur, stated that a new low-pressure system has formed over the Arabian Sea off the Karnataka and Goa coasts. Another system is already active over northern Bangladesh and the surrounding areas. The monsoon trough line is currently passing through Sri Ganganagar and Rohtak. He said that due to the influence of this system, the monsoon will remain active for the next 5-6 days. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in some parts of Kota and Udaipur divisions on August 25-26. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in many parts of Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur divisions.
