Protest Call Over Alleged Irregularities at Bhupal Nobles and Rajasthan Vidyapeeth

UDAIPUR, January 20: (Udaipur Kiran). Allegations of irregularities at Bhupal Nobles (BN) Institution and Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University) have triggered open dissent, with activists and former students announcing a protest on January 20, 2026.

Dr Dilip Singh Chauhan, an activist associated with Rajasthan Vidyapeeth and a former student of Bhupal Nobles Institution, has issued a public letter raising serious concerns over the current functioning of both institutions. In the letter, he alleged that recent developments are against academic values and social traditions, and have caused widespread dissatisfaction among stakeholders.

Questions Raised Over Bhupal Nobles Institution
In the letter, it has been alleged that in the Mewar tradition, the position of Maharana is not merely administrative but a symbol of faith and respect. Despite this, the current executive body is accused of making inappropriate and legally questionable remarks against its own hereditary chairman and patron in court proceedings.

It has further been alleged that when the principal patron ordered an audit to ensure transparency, the directions were ignored. This, according to the letter, has raised suspicions and concerns about accountability. The letter also states that individuals who consider themselves owners of the institution on the basis of vote politics need to be reminded of institutional dignity and limits.

Allegations Concerning Rajasthan Vidyapeeth
The functioning of Rajasthan Vidyapeeth’s current administration, particularly Vice Chancellor Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, has also been questioned. The letter alleges that the family which founded and nurtured the institution is now being sidelined.

Referring to the convocation ceremony held on November 13, it was alleged that while lakhs of rupees were spent on the event, even a garland was not offered to the statue of founder Janardan Rai Nagar, reflecting a lack of respect for the institution’s roots. Allegations regarding continuation in office without requisite qualifications and an oppressive attitude towards employees have also been mentioned.

Announcement of Dharna and ‘Sadbudhi Yagya’
In protest against the alleged irregularities and conduct, a dharna and Sadbudhi Yagya have been announced. Dr Chauhan stated that the programme will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in front of the statue of Maharana Bhupal Singh at the Bhupal Nobles Institution campus.

He has appealed to employees, members and former students to participate peacefully and raise their voices. The letter cautions that silence at this stage would be judged harshly by future generations and calls upon all concerned to come forward fearlessly with facts.

The appeal concludes with the slogan:
“In honour of the Maharana, entire Mewar to the ground.”

Dr Dilip Singh Chauhan has signed the appeal as an activist of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth and a former student of Bhupal Nobles Institution.
