Pokaran Child Development Office Official Caught Taking Rs 5,000 Bribe

JAIPUR, June 10 (Udaipur Kiran) : Acting on the directions of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters, the ACB Jaisalmer Unit on Tuesday arrested an Assistant Administrative Officer of the Child Development Project Office, Sakra Headquarters, Pokaran, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.

According to the ACB, the accused, Bhawani Singh, currently posted as Assistant Administrative Officer in the Office of the Child Development Project Officer, Sakra Headquarters, Pokaran, was caught red-handed during a trap operation.

The bureau received a complaint stating that the complainant’s mother, who is posted at the Anganwadi Centre in Rampura, had been issued a show-cause notice after she was found absent during a surprise inspection conducted by the CDPO, Sakra Headquarters, Pokaran, on June 3, 2026.

As per the complaint, when the complainant visited the office to submit a reply to the notice, Bhawani Singh allegedly prepared the reply, offered to present it before the Child Development Officer and have the notice file closed, and demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 for the process.

Following verification of the complaint, a trap operation was conducted under the supervision of Narayan Togas, Deputy Inspector General of Police, ACB Jodhpur. The operation was carried out by Additional Superintendent of Police Narpat Chand and the ACB Jaisalmer team.

During the operation, the accused was allegedly caught accepting Rs 5,000 and was arrested on the spot.

Questioning of the accused and further proceedings are underway. The ACB has stated that a case will be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and an investigation will be conducted.
