As POCO prepares for the much-anticipated launch of its POCO X7 series in India next week, the brand has quietly shifted its global online presence. The POCO global website, which previously served as a hub for the brand’s smartphone lineup in various regions, has now been discontinued. Going forward, POCO’s products will be available on Xiaomi’s official website, marking a significant change in the brand’s digital strategy.

POCO Global Website Goes Dark
POCO had announced back in October 2024 that its official website would be phased out and moved under Xiaomi’s umbrella. Now, websites in several global regions, including Europe, are no longer functional in terms of providing updates or product sales.
Key updates on the website discontinuation include:
- Global websites, including regional sites in Europe, have stopped functioning and are no longer updated with new information.
- While the websites are still technically accessible, they no longer display product listings or a functioning POCO Store.
- The POCO India website remains live and fully operational with updated product information, suggesting that this change might not yet extend to the Indian market.
- On the Xiaomi global website, a dedicated POCO section has been created for global users. However, the Xiaomi India website does not yet feature a similar section for POCO products.
When the discontinuation announcement was made, it was primarily directed at POCO’s global operations, so it remains unclear whether the Indian website will also eventually be integrated into Xiaomi’s platform.
POCO’s New Offline Strategy in India
Alongside its digital shift, POCO is planning a major offline expansion in India. Since its inception, POCO has operated as an online-exclusive brand, primarily selling its smartphones through Flipkart and, more recently, Amazon India. However, POCO is now gearing up to enter offline retail stores across the country in 2025.
This move signals a strategic shift aimed at boosting sales and expanding its market share in India. With Xiaomi already having a robust offline presence across urban and rural markets, POCO is likely to benefit from its parent brand’s established retail network. By entering the offline market, POCO can tap into a broader customer base, including those who prefer purchasing smartphones directly from physical stores.
Upcoming POCO X7 Series Launch in India
POCO fans in India have another reason to be excited—the POCO X7 series is set to launch on January 9, 2025. This lineup will consist of two models:
- POCO X7
- POCO X7 Pro
One of the biggest highlights is that the POCO X7 Pro will be India’s first smartphone to launch with HyperOS 2.0, based on Android 15, right out of the box. This new operating system, developed by Xiaomi, promises a faster, smoother, and more user-friendly experience.
Both phones in the series will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, continuing POCO’s strong association with the e-commerce giant. While detailed specifications are yet to be fully revealed, early teasers hint at cutting-edge hardware, including high-refresh-rate displays, powerful processors, and enhanced camera capabilities.
