PM Modi meets Sri Lankan PM Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi

Both the leaders are likely to review the status of the India-assisted housing projects at Jaffna in Sri Lanka.

Wickremesinghe arrived in the national capital on a three-day visit to India on Thursday.

This is his fifth official visit to India since taking office in 2015.The external Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Sri Lanka PM Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The leaders exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and reviewed progress on development projects.

Sri Lanka prime MInister Ranil Wickremesingh also met home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.

The leaders had deliberations on further strengthening cooperation between India and Sri Lanka on issues pertaining to security and terrorism in the region.
