While addressing on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that whatever the ideology emerged from India, the theme of all was only the welfare of humanity. He said Lord Buddha was the fountainhead of egalitarianism, peace, harmony, and brotherhood. He said being the country of Buddha, also gave us an edge over other countries.
PM Modi highlighted that India has never been an aggressor and that religious thoughts born in India have always been considerate of others. Indian religions are inclusive and tolerant.
Prime Minister said that the journey from Sidharth to Lord Buddha is not a tale of enlightenment but a discovery of truth.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that the message of Lord Buddha has spread far and wide. He also said that Lord Buddha’s compassion endeared him to millions and that we should further carry the spirit of peace and harmony in our society.
The Prime Minister underlined the importance of life and teachings of Lord Budhha. He said that anyone who tries to mitigate the sufferings of others and anguished by better use of his knowledge, money, and assets can finally attain Budhhatva.
