Jaipur, March 30, 2025 – Rajasthan is currently experiencing a spell of pleasant chill due to northern winds, with nighttime temperatures dipping below 10°C in several cities. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a new Western Disturbance is expected to become active on April 2, potentially bringing cloud cover and light rainfall to eight districts in southern Rajasthan. A Yellow Alert has been issued in response.
Temperature Fluctuations Across the State
Over the past 24 hours, Rajasthan has witnessed significant weather variability. The day started with clear skies and brisk winds, followed by cool breezes that persisted throughout. Districts including Jaipur, Dausa, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Sikar, and Nagaur experienced a noticeable drop in temperatures.
Clouds gathered in southeastern Rajasthan by the afternoon, offering respite from sunlight and warmth. The highest temperature recorded was 34.4°C in Phalodi, while Barmer, Dholpur, Dungarpur, and Kota hovered around 33.5°C.
In the capital Jaipur, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.8°C, with clear skies during the day giving way to cloudy evenings and chilly winds. The minimum temperature fell to 18.4°C.
Chill Intensifies at Night in Key Cities
Northern winds have caused nighttime temperatures to drop sharply:

Other cities including Pali, Karauli, Sirohi, Baran, Sri Ganganagar, Churu, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Sikar, Pilani, Bhilwara, and Tonk also reported minimum temperatures below 15°C.
Western Disturbance to Bring Rain to Southern Rajasthan
According to Radheyshyam Sharma, Director of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the impact of northern winds will continue until April 1, keeping day and night temperatures below normal. From April 2, the influence of the active Western Disturbance may lead to light rain and thunderstorms in Udaipur and Kota divisions.
