Jaipur, February 2 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a woman patwari red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 in Sikar district.

Acting on directions from the ACB headquarters, the Sikar unit arrested Suman Kumari, Patwari of Patwar Halka Bhagega, Tehsil Neemkathana, District Sikar, while taking the bribe amount from the complainant.
According to the ACB, a complaint was received alleging that the patwari was demanding Rs 7,000 to correct the names of the complainant’s father and uncle in the land records (Jamabandi). The complainant stated that he was being harassed repeatedly over the illegal demand.
Under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police (ACB Jaipur) Anil Kayal, the trap action was carried out by the ACB Sikar unit under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar. The operation was led by Police Inspector Subhash Meel along with his team, during which the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
Further questioning and legal proceedings against the accused are underway under the supervision of ACB Inspector General of Police Satyendra Kumar. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is in progress.
