Rajsamand, May 26 – A rare and thrilling wildlife sighting has emerged from the mining zone of Rajsamand district in Rajasthan, where a panther (leopard) was seen resting calmly on stone heaps at a dumping yard near Jema Kheda village under Aajna Gram Panchayat in Deogarh.

Captured on camera by two locals, Ganpat Gurjar and Man Singh, the video shows the big cat sitting unbothered on a rocky patch, seemingly at ease in what resembles its natural habitat. The footage, recorded from close range, clearly captures the majestic animal in a relaxed posture, offering a rare visual treat to wildlife enthusiasts and villagers alike.
The video quickly went viral on social media platforms, drawing attention and generating curiosity among netizens. Many viewers were astonished by the clarity of the visuals and the proximity from which the panther was filmed.
Wildlife in Mining Zones: A Growing Phenomenon
Wildlife experts note that sightings of wild animals like panthers in mining areas are becoming increasingly common, especially in regions like Rajsamand where water sources and food availability can attract such species. These animals often wander into human-adjacent zones in search of sustenance or territory.
While the sighting has sparked excitement and awe, it also serves as a reminder for caution, particularly for residents living near such industrial or rural outposts. Authorities have often warned that human-wildlife interactions can turn dangerous if not handled with care and awareness.
Local wildlife authorities have been alerted, and monitoring of the area is expected to be increased to ensure the safety of both the animal and nearby residents.
This incident once again highlights the delicate balance between human activity and wildlife movement, especially in areas with active mining and forested landscapes.
