Panther Spotted in Udaipur Colony Adjacent to Sajjangarh Sanctuary

Udaipur : A panther was spotted in a colony adjacent to the Sajjangarh Sanctuary in Udaipur on Wednesday night. The forest department team reached the spot and advised people to be careful.

The incident took place in the Srinath Colony located on Ubeeshwarji Marg. Several dogs were barking late into the night on Wednesday. A resident of the colony checked the CCTV footage and found that a panther had entered the colony at night. The panther roamed around the colony for about two hours from 1:30 am to 3:30 am.

The forest department team reached the spot after receiving information about the incident. Regional Forest Officer Vijayendra Singh Sisodiya said that the team visited the spot in the morning. The area is adjacent to the Sajjangarh Sanctuary. There are also farmlands with bushes in the area. In view of this, people have been advised to take precautions such as not going out of the house at night, lighting fire in the houses around the open land, etc.
