Oppo Reno 11 series will soon be equipped with the AI wiper feature and launched globally

Oppo Reno 11 series will soon come with the first artificial intelligence (AI) feature: AI Eraser. The smartphone maker introduced its AndesGPT Large-Scale Language Model (LLM) in November 2023 to develop artificial intelligence functions for domestic smartphones. Later, a number of artificial intelligence features were introduced in the Oppo Find X7 series.

The company has announced that it will roll out these features to other Oppo smartphones starting February 2024, starting with the Reno 11 series. Finally, the company begins rolling out its first artificial intelligence capabilities globally.

Notably, the AI Eraser feature was launched for the Reno 11 series in China earlier this month, but not elsewhere in the world. Now the company has officially confirmed that this feature will be added to all devices worldwide. The announcement was made by Billy Chong, head of international marketing, sales and services at Oppo, who said in a post on X (formerly Twitter): “More and more people will use this very accessible and advanced technology.”

AI Eraser is a photo editing tool integrated into the Gallery app. When the user hovers over a background object, the AI processes and removes the object and restores the background element. This is a useful feature for removing unwanted people or random objects from memorable images. This feature is similar to Google’s Magic Eraser and Samsung’s Object Eraser.

However, this doesn’t seem to be the only AI feature on the Oppo Reno 11 series, which consists of the vanilla Reno 11 and Reno 11 Pro. Oppo added several artificial intelligence features to its new ColorOS release in China in February 2024. These will be added to the Reno 11 series, Reno 10 series, Find N3, Find N3 Flip and several OnePlus models.

Other features introduced alongside the AI eraser include an AI call summary feature where the AI creates a written summary of the call with a timestamp after the call is hung up, an AI image generator, an AI greeting card maker and more. . These features may also roll out in the coming months.
