Mahindra and Mahindra have announced that the five-door version of the Thar will be called Thar Rocks. The new SUV was presented in the new trailer of the domestic manufacturer. We already know that Mahindra, like the Thar, will launch the Thar Roxas on Independence Day.
The teaser shows the new bumper design which is not painted black. There are new LED headlights at the front, which provide better illumination at night. The grill has also been renewed.
The new alloy wheels are otherwise stylish and are expected to be 18-inches and diamond-cut. One of the biggest visible changes is the extra length due to the longer wheelbase. Designed to fit the rear doors for easy entry and exit.
There will also be more space for rear passengers. Steel wheels are available in a lower version. At the rear, the taillight design remains unchanged, but the components have been redesigned.
The list of functions is now longer. It has a new infotainment system with a large touchscreen, automatic climate control and a sunroof. Rear air conditioning vents and an updated instrument cluster are also expected to be available. There is also the front parking camera seen in the teaser.
Mahindra insists on delivering a premium experience at Thar Rocks. It was intended as a more practical off-road vehicle than the Thar, but it is also suitable for off-roading. Vijay Nagra, head of the automotive division of MandM Kft.
