Udaipur, May 11, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – The National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Sai Tirupati University, in association with the Community Medicine Department of Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences, organised various social, cultural and awareness activities under the “Somnath Swabhiman Parv”.
The programme aimed to promote awareness among students and society about Indian culture, faith, cleanliness, social responsibility and national pride.
As part of the event, a short film screening and lecture based on the glorious history of the Somnath Temple were organised. Through these activities, volunteers were informed about the importance of India’s cultural heritage, national unity and the spirit of service.
NSS volunteers also carried out a cleanliness drive and a cultural awareness campaign during the programme. Abhishek Mukherjee administered the “Somnath Sankalp Pledge” to the participants.
The volunteers pledged to actively participate in preserving Indian culture and heritage, promoting cleanliness, spreading health awareness and serving society. Students were also encouraged to contribute towards nation-building, social service and the protection of cultural values.
The programme was organised by NSS Programme Officer Avantika Gupta, while coordinator Deepak Teli shared details about the event.
Several doctors, faculty members, staff and a large number of students participated enthusiastically in the programme. At the end of the event, participants resolved to continue contributing towards national interest and social service activities.
