Nothing Phone 2a gets camera improvements and additional bug fixes with the Nothing OS 2.5.5 update

The UK-based brand’s third smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, was announced in March. Shortly after the official launch, the phone received NothingOS 2.5.3 and Nothing OS 2.5.4 updates, which included bug fixes and camera optimizations.

Nothing has currently released another software update that further improves the camera. The latest version of Nothing OS 2.5.5 brings the April 2024 security patch along with system stability and performance improvements. This update fixes compatibility issues with some third-party launchers and addresses stability issues with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.

Nothing Phone 2a

The UK-based startup announced the availability of Nothing OS 2.5.5 for the Nothing Phone 2a in a post on X on Monday. The new firmware update includes new camera features, some general improvements, bug fixes, and Google’s April security patch.

According to the changes, Nothing OS 2.5.5 will increase camera saturation and increase the loading speed of the Phone 2a’s camera. Optimizes blur accuracy in Portrait mode to ensure overall clarity. This update improves the Google Assistant launch experience and optimizes pop-up display animations. The latest build is intended to improve overall smoothness and gaming performance.

The latest software version doesn’t even fix some of the known bugs. Fixes compatibility issues with some third-party launchers on Phone 2a. Nothing OS 2.5.5 solves stability issues of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections. The firmware update fixes the issue with the lock screen lighting feature. Software updates bring improvements in system stability.

Nothing Phone 2a was launched in India in the first week of March at a price of 100 Crores. 23,999 for the base configuration with 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage. The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC and features an AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. It features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. The phone is IP54 certified and features a Glyph interface on the back.
