Nothing Phone 2 receives NothingOS 2.5.5 update with ChatGPT integration, UltraXDR and more

Nothing Phone 2 was launched in July 2023 with Nothing OS 2.0 based on Android 13. The phone has since been updated to Android 14 and is now receiving the new NothingOS 2.5.5 update.

This update introduces ChatGPT integration along with bug fixes and other improvements. Meanwhile, on April 18, Nothing announced the brand’s newest headphones, Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A. The headphones also feature ChatGPT integration, which can be accessed via finger swipe and voice input.

A forum post did not announce that ChatGPT integration will be available to Nothing Phone 2 users with the NothingOS 2.5.5 update. To do this, you need to install the latest version of ChatGPT from the Play Store on your mobile device.

This integration adds new gesture options to the Nothing X app for starting voice conversations with ChatGPT on Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A. This feature will soon be available for other Nothing audio products.

The NothingOS 2.5.5 update also adds a new ChatGPT widget that allows you to launch ChatGPT in different modes from the Phone 2 home screen. This update brings new screenshot and clipboard pop-up buttons, allowing users to paste content directly into a new conversation in ChatGPT.

Nothing Phone 2 also gets an improved camera with the NothingOS 2.5.5 update. Your phone camera now supports Ultra XDR. This mode can be activated via the phone’s camera settings. The photo and portrait modes in the camera app also now have an XDR switch.

The latest update also adds a RAM Booster feature, which you can access from Settings > System > RAM Booster.

The NothingOS 2.5.5 update adds a ringtone option to the Quick Settings feature on Phone 2, allowing users to quickly select different sound settings. Users can also take advantage of the new Recorder and Battery widgets, as well as the Notation interface debug modes in Developer Options, giving app developers greater control over the Glyph UI.

The NothingOS 2.5.5 update for Phone 2 also improves system stability, NFC functionality and Wi-Fi connection stability. It also claims to have fixed some bugs and flickering issues related to launching the Quick Settings app.
