New Business Accounting Book Launched for Students at Pacific University

Udaipur, April 30, 2025 – In a significant step towards enhancing commerce education, a new book titled Business Accounting was officially launched at Pacific University. The book, co-authored by Dr. Anurag Mehta, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Mohammad Abid, Assistant Professor, was unveiled by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Hemant Kothari at the university’s Vishveshwaraya Auditorium. The launch event saw the presence of deans and department heads from various faculties.

Divided into 18 chapters, the book explains the principles of accounting in a simple and accessible manner, using practical examples. It has been designed to benefit students from class 11 and 12 up to undergraduate levels, especially those pursuing BBA or B.Com after completing their schooling in science or arts streams.

Key accounting topics covered in the book include:

  • Cash Flow and Fund Flow Statements

  • Ratio Analysis

  • Bank Reconciliation Statement (BRS)

  • Accounting Standards

Each concept has been carefully structured to enhance both theoretical understanding and practical application.

This publication marks Dr. Mehta’s fifth book and Dr. Abid’s second, both of whom are well-respected figures in their field. The book aims to bridge gaps in foundational accounting knowledge and is expected to be particularly beneficial for non-commerce background students transitioning into commerce programs.
