“51 Couples—With New Dreams, Beginning the Journey of Married Life”
Udaipur, 25 August (Kiran News). The greatest fortune in life is to join hands with someone and promise to walk together through every circumstance. The foundation of a family is laid when two souls become companions in each other’s happiness and sorrow. To extend this sacred opportunity to those deprived of marriage due to poverty or disability, Narayan Seva Sansthan is once again organising a remarkable social initiative.

On 30 and 31 August, the 44th free mass wedding for differently-abled and underprivileged couples will take place at the Seva Mahateerth campus in Liyo Ka Guda. On this occasion, 51 couples will tie the knot, taking the sacred seven vows and embarking on a happy marital journey.
Examples of Love and Courage
According to Bhagat Prasad Gaur, Public Relations Officer of the Sansthan, among these couples, some are visually impaired, some have physical disabilities, and some have braved life’s paths with immense struggle. There are also couples where one partner is differently-abled and the other is not. Yet, each pair stands as a living example that—
“True togetherness is not just of the body, but of the soul and mind.”
Ganpati Puja to Begin the Celebration
The celebrations will begin at 10:15 am on 30 August, with Sansthan founder Padmashree Kailash ‘Manav’, co-founder Kamla Devi, and President Prashant Agrawal commencing the festivities with Ganpati puja. Traditional ceremonies like mehendi, music, and the wedding procession will add colour to the event, while on 31 August, rituals such as the wedding archway, garland exchange, and sacred vows will bind these couples in matrimony.
A Festival of New Beginnings
This event is not just a wedding but a celebration of social rebirth. Differently-abled couples, who were once surrounded by despair but became self-reliant through surgery, artificial limbs, and vocational training from the Sansthan, will return with their families to bless the newlyweds. So far, 2,459 couples have begun their new lives through the Sansthan’s support across 43 mass weddings. This time, the entire nation will be able to witness the ceremony through a live broadcast.
Echoes of Vedic Tradition
The wedding pavilion will be adorned with 51 altars, resonating with the holy sound of Vedic mantras. Amidst the tears of those giving away their daughters, the seven sacred rounds around the fire will embody not only religious tradition but also the highest expressions of human compassion and social responsibility.
During the press conference, Public Relations Officer Bhagat Prasad Gaur, Media In-charge Vishnu Sharma Hitaishi, Wedding Coordinator Rohit Tiwari, and Banshilal Meghwal unveiled the event poster.
A Gift of New Life
The newlyweds will receive all essential household items from the Sansthan to help them start their new life—utensils, bed, wardrobe, sewing machine, stove, fan, bedding, and cosmetics. These are not just items, but blessings to fill their homes with happiness.
The Emotional Moment of Farewell
The most touching moment of the ceremony will come as daughters bid farewell in symbolic palanquins with their new spouses. The Sansthan will ensure they are respectfully escorted to their villages. This farewell is more than a ritual; it sends a message to society that—
“Every daughter, whether underprivileged or differently-abled, deserves to be sent off with dignity and honour as the goddess of her new home.”
This mass wedding is not just an event, but a festival of humanity—where dedication, compassion, and social harmony come together to create new chapters of life.
