Motorola Moto G54 5G has been released in various Chinese and Indian flavors

Motorola has announced the successor to the Motorola Moto G54 5G smartphone introduced a year ago. Although it hasn’t been that long since the release of the Moto G53, Motorola has made significant improvements to the Moto G5X series. Specifically, the Moto G54 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor, a more powerful replacement for the Snapdragon 480+ found in its predecessor.

For reference, the Dimensity 7020 combines two high-performance ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores and six high-performance Cortex-A55 cores, running at MediaTek’s 2.2GHz and 2GHz respectively. By comparison, the Snapdragon 480+ uses the same six Cortex-A55 processors, but at 1.8GHz, along with a pair of weaker Cortex-A76 cores. In addition, Motorola offers the Moto G54 5G with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and a 20% larger battery than its predecessor.

According to Motorola, the Moto G54 5G can charge a 6,000mAh battery at 33W via a USB Type-C port; The device does not support wireless charging. In addition, the phone features a 6.5-inch 1080p IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with a 50MP main camera (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front-facing camera.

Surprisingly, Motorola is planning to launch the Moto G54 5G variant in India. For example, the Indian variant has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging, 15W charging, and a 2MP sensor instead of the 8MP ultra-wide camera. The Moto G54 5G is priced at 1,099 yuan (~$152) in China; Motorola will launch the Moto G54 5G smartphone in India tomorrow.
