Udaipur : A forgotten case of roadside hooliganism by BJP MLA and state minister DhanSingh Ravat’s son Rajveer aka Raja has surged up suddenly after the video footages of the incident went viral on social media on Saturday. The MLA’s son is seen slapping a youth who apparently didnt give side to Raja’s jeep while the vehicles were passing on a one-way road at Maharana Pratap circle near Vidhyut colony in Banswara city. His aide damaged the car and broke the window panes. However police said the matter has been settled mutually. ” On getting such information, our cops met the victim’s father but they said they do not want to register any case or lodge complaint” Kaluram Rawat, SP Banswara said.
According to sources, the incident took place on June 1 when Prerak son of Jalaj Upadhyaya was driving his car towards the city while Raja’s jeep happened to follow behind. The jeep driver tried to overtake the car but due to an ongoing construction work in progress Prerak couldnt give side to Raja’s jeep which infuriated the latter. The jeep driver managed to overtake and he stopped the jeep few meters ahead of the car while Raja who was seated on the side seat got off and walked up to the car, forcedly pulled out the driver and slapped him hard. When Prerak tried to run to save himself, Raja and his men chased and thrashed him while others damaged his car and broke the window glasses.

However,the matter wasnt reported to the police as the minister used his influence for a mutual reconciliation and covered up the entire incident. The matter surged up again after the CCTV footage of the incident went viral. Prerak’s father Jalaj told media that his son was beaten up by some youths few days ago but he didnt knew if the assailants were the MLA’s son and his aides.The man also said that didnt want his son to make rounds to court and police stations as he was studying in some other city and hence didnt make a police complaint which would cause them inconvenience. When Udaipur Kiran called up the state minister for a quote, the person on the other end said the MLA was busy and not available for couple of hours.
