Mewar Festival Begins with a Grand Celebration ‘ Gangaaur ‘

Udaipur: The three-day Mewar Festival kicked off with a grand celebration on Thursday in the world-famous Lake City of Udaipur. The event was organized jointly by the district administration and the tourism department.

During the opening ceremony, various traditional events showcased the beauty of the lakes and the unique culture of Mewar. A procession of ‘Gangaaur’ was taken out from Ghantaghar to Gangaaur Ghat in the old city. Women and men from different communities participated in the procession wearing traditional costumes.

Royal ‘Gangaaur’ Procession Mesmerizes Everyone

The ‘Shahi Gangaaur‘ procession, which was taken out from Banshi Ghat to Gangaaur Ghat with royal pomp and show, was the main attraction. The procession, which moved along the waves of Lake Pichola with melodious tunes, mesmerized everyone. Everyone was eager to capture this beautiful sight in their cameras.

Festive Atmosphere in the City

Thursday evening was no less than a festival for the city of Udaipur. When the ‘Gangaaur’ processions from different parts of the city reached Gangaaur Ghat together, the captivating sight attracted everyone. Traditional musical instruments, bands, drums, etc. added to the festive atmosphere.
