Udaipur, March 20 – In a swift and successful police operation, the Kanod police cracked the high-profile burglary case at Anupam Electrical Store within 48 hours, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of stolen jewelry and cash.

The accused were part of a well-organized gang that meticulously planned the heist, targeting the shop’s locker containing gold, silver jewelry, and cash worth lakhs. The breakthrough came after technical surveillance, CCTV analysis, and continuous field investigations by the Kanod Police team under the leadership of Udaipur District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal.
🚔 The Crime: A Well-Planned Burglary
The case was registered on March 16, 2025, after Laxmilal Mehta, the shop owner, lodged a complaint. He stated that he had locked his shop at 6:30 PM on March 15, only to be informed the next morning at 4:00 AM by a neighbor that his shop’s shutter was open.
Upon inspection, it was found that unknown individuals had broken into the shop using sophisticated tools and stolen:
✔ ₹2.50 lakh in cash
✔ 150 kg of pledged silver ornaments
✔ 20 tolas (200 grams) of gold jewelry
This prompted Kanod police to register a case under Section 305 BNS (Burglary and Theft) and launch an extensive investigation.
🔍 The Investigation & Breakthrough
Given the seriousness of the crime, Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal formed a special investigation team under the supervision of Additional SP Anjana Sukhwal, DSP Rajendra Singh Jain, and SHO Mukesh Chandra Khatik.
Key Investigation Steps:
✔ CCTV Surveillance: Footage revealed four unidentified individuals executing the theft.
✔ Motorcycle Lead: A Passion Pro bike, suspiciously parked near the crime scene, became a crucial lead.
✔ Cyber Analysis: Cyber Cell Udaipur traced mobile activity in the area, leading to two suspects:
- Laxman Lal (prime suspect, history-sheeter)
- Kalulal (notorious criminal with 10 prior cases, including robbery, assault, and murder)
Continuous technical and field surveillance helped track the accused’s movements and hideouts.
👮 Arrests & Recovery of Stolen Items
After an intensive 48-hour operation, the police arrested three prime accused from remote jungle hideouts:
✔ Laxman Lal Rawat (20) – Resident of Sisodia Ka Guda, Udaipur
✔ Kalulal Bhoy (45) – Resident of Brahmpuri, Kanod
✔ Kishanlal Meena (19) – Resident of Nichla Guda, Lasadiya
The stolen gold and silver ornaments were recovered, hidden in various locations including:
✔ Buried in farmlands
✔ Inside a wheat field
✔ Under temple stones (Bapu Ji’s Devra)
✔ Thrown into a 100-feet deep well
One of the bravest acts of the recovery mission was Constable Dashrath (2037) diving into the well to retrieve the stolen jewelry after two hours of effort.
📌 Modus Operandi – How the Heist Was Executed
✔ Planned for Over a Year: Kalulal Bhoy had been conducting reconnaissance on the shop and studying CCTV camera placements.
✔ Mapped a CCTV-Free Route: They identified blind spots in the market.
✔ Break-in Using Advanced Tools: The thieves broke the shutter and locker using specialized iron rods and tools.
