Udaipur, April 12: In an effort to conduct the 2024 Lok Sabha elections impartially and transparently, the District Election Officer Arvind Poswal, under the guidance of the Election Commission of India, has been actively working with flying squads and enforcement agencies.
Since the effective implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, a total of ₹4079.88 lakhs worth of goods and cash have been seized in Udaipur district. Udaipur now holds the second position in the state after Pali in terms of seizures.
The Election Expenditure Monitoring Committee’s in-charge, CEO Smart City Krishna Pal Singh Chauhan, revealed that under the supervision of the expenditure observer Ravi Ranjan Kumar, the district has closely monitored all unwanted activities related to 72 flying squads and static teams, as well as nodal departments such as police, excise, commercial tax, airport authority, and narcotics. Various flying squads and enforcement agencies have seized goods and cash amounting to ₹4079.88 lakhs.
This includes ₹467.74 lakhs in cash, 475276.96 liters of illicit liquor, 1259.59 kilograms of drugs valued at ₹608.42 lakhs, and 29.387 kilograms of valuable items. Additionally, other items worth ₹1974.40 lakhs have also been seized.
