Buenos Aires, March 4 Inter Miami’s star forward Lionel Messi has been named in Argentina’s 33-man preliminary squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Brazil later this month.

According to an official announcement by the Argentine Football Association (AFA), young Manchester City midfielder Claudio Echeverri and Bologna striker Santiago Castro have earned their first-ever call-ups to the national team.

However, River Plate defender Marcos Acuña has been left out due to inconsistent performances.
