Prayagraj, March 20 – Light rainfall was recorded in Prayagraj and several districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning, leaving farmers worried about potential crop damage. The overcast sky and unexpected showers at this time of the season have raised concerns among the agricultural community.

The Meteorological Department had already predicted light rain in parts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Prayagraj.
Dr. S.N. Sunil Pandey stated that apart from Prayagraj, light showers are likely in Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Lucknow, Raebareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Ballia, and Ghazipur.
Farmers fear that unseasonal rainfall may damage standing Rabi crops, particularly wheat and mustard, which are nearing the harvesting stage. The impact of this rain on agriculture will become clearer in the coming days.
