Dungarpur : A leopard that was hiding in the bushes after hunting a blue bull attacked and injured a media person in the Gadiya Bhadar Metwala village of the Bhader forest area. There was a fight between the two for about five minutes. The media person was badly injured. However, he still managed to subdue the leopard and sit on it. The villagers then tied the leopard with a rope. A team from the forest department that reached the spot rescued the leopard. The injured media person has been admitted to the hospital.
Villagers said that the leopard was spotted near the village’s Megh Talab at around 6:15 am on Sunday. He was eating a blue bull that he had hunted after hiding it in the bushes. Meanwhile, at around 7 am, many people from the village, including the deputy sarpanch, reached the spot. Media person Gunwant Kalal had also come to the spot to cover the incident. At around 7:20 am, people were trying to drive the leopard hiding in the bushes towards the forest. Meanwhile, instead of running towards the forest, the leopard started running towards the people and attacked Kalal who was running away.
The leopard caught Kalal’s leg in its jaws. As soon as the attack took place, the other people ran away. Meanwhile, Gunwant hit the leopard’s jaw with his other leg to save himself. This caused the leg to be released, but when the leopard attacked again, Gunwant grabbed its jaw and sat on it. After that, there was a struggle between the two for about five minutes. Meanwhile, the people standing far away showed courage again and tied the leopard with ropes. After a lot of effort, the leopard was controlled at around 8:15 am.
