Kyiv : The Tripoli Thermal Power Plant (TPP) outside the Ukrainian capital has been completely destroyed in a Russian missile strike, a media report quoted an official as saying.

According to a report by Xinhua news agency, Andriy Tots, chairman of the supervisory board of Ukrainian power plant Centrenergo, said on Thursday that a fire broke out in the plant’s turbine hall after the attack.
“No employee was killed in the attack,” he said. “Firefighting efforts are underway.”
Located 45 km south of Kyiv, the Tripoli TPP is the largest power generation center in the Kyiv region with a capacity of 1,800 MW.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that on Thursday morning, Russia fired 42 missiles. These included six Kinzhal hypersonic missiles and 40 combat drones. The Ukrainian military shot down 18 missiles and 39 drones.
