Kannur, March 19 : Air Customs sleuths on Saturday seized 813 grams of gold ornaments worth around Rs 40 lakh from a woman passenger who arrived at Kannur International Airport from Doha in an Indigo flight. Assistant Commissioner Muhammed Faeiz’s team detained one Rubeena of Ponniam near Thalassery in this regard. The seized gold ornaments were concealed beneath her pardah and hijab. She was arrested and enlarged on bail and further investigation is underway, said Customs Superintendent V P Baby. AK/SS ACL1030
