Kami Rita Sherpa makes history with second Everest summit in 10 days

Kathmandu : Nepali mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa has set a new world record by successfully climbing the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, twice within 10 days. By reaching the summit of Everest for the 30th time today, Kami Rita has also claimed the record for the most ascents.

In a statement released by the Nepal Mountaineering Association, it was said that Kami Rita Sherpa created a new record by reaching the summit of Mount Everest at 7:49 am on Wednesday. Kami Rita is the first person to climb Everest 30 times. Earlier, on May 12, Kami Rita had also made a record ascent for the 29th time.

This time, Kami Rita has set a record of climbing twice successfully within 10 days since the government allowed mountaineering. On May 23 last year, Kami Rita successfully climbed Mount Everest for the 28th time.

Khim Lal Gautam, head of the temporary Everest base camp of the Tourism Department, said that so far this season, 460 people have successfully climbed Mount Everest.
