Jio AirFiber vs. JioFiber

  1. Technology: Jio Fiber relies on wired fiber optic cables for its connectivity, whereas Jio AirFiber adopts a wireless approach using point-to-point radio links. This means that Jio AirFiber directly connects homes and offices to Jio through wireless signals, eliminating the need for fiber cables. It relies on line-of-sight communication with Jio towers.
  2. Speed: Jio AirFiber claims to offer internet speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps, surpassing the 1 Gbps speed of Jio Fiber. However, it’s essential to note that the actual speed of Jio AirFiber may vary depending on the proximity to the nearest tower.
  3. Coverage: While Jio Fiber offers broader coverage, it is not available nationwide. In contrast, JioAirFiber’s wireless technology allows it to offer extensive coverage without being constrained by physical infrastructure.
  4. Installation: Jio AirFiber is designed to be plug-and-play, making it more user-friendly and accessible for customers. In contrast, Jio Fiber typically requires professional installation.
  5. Cost: Jio AirFiber’s pricing is expected to be competitive, potentially costing around Rs 6,000. This may be slightly more expensive than traditional broadband connections due to the inclusion of a portable device unit.
