Ranchi, March 26 – Heatwave-like conditions are expected to intensify across Jharkhand as temperatures in several districts are forecast to soar to 40°C by the end of March. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the situation will become even more severe in the first week of April, especially in central and western parts of the state.
Steady Rise in Temperature Across Districts
Despite sporadic rainfall in some areas, the mercury has already surged past 35°C in key regions. On Wednesday, the maximum temperatures recorded were:

Notably, areas like Daltonganj, Jagarnathpur (West Singhbhum), and Pakur are experiencing scorching daytime temperatures, signaling an early arrival of peak summer conditions.

The IMD has clearly stated that there is no major weather change expected in the coming days. With dry and clear skies, temperatures are set to climb steadily, leading to discomfort and health risks, especially during the afternoons.
April to Bring Intense Heat
While March is already seeing higher-than-normal temperatures, April is predicted to be even hotter. Meteorologists warn that without any rain forecast on the horizon, residents must be prepared for extreme heat conditions, particularly in districts like Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, and parts of Santhal Pargana.
