Buttler’s Masterclass and Rutherford’s Crucial Support Guide Gujarat Home

Chasing 170, Gujarat Titans had a cautious start, losing skipper Shubman Gill early for just 14 runs. However, Jos Buttler steadied the innings alongside Sai Sudharsan, with the duo stitching together a critical 75-run partnership for the second wicket. Sudharsan narrowly missed out on his half-century, scoring 49 runs before being dismissed.

Sherfane Rutherford (30* off 20 balls) then joined Buttler, ensuring a comfortable win for Gujarat Titans. Buttler finished unbeaten at 73 runs, dominating the Bangalore bowlers and sealing the match convincingly.

For RCB, only Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood managed one wicket each.

Early Setbacks Hurt RCB; Livingston and Jitesh Sharma Salvage Innings

Earlier, put into bat first after losing the toss, RCB had a shaky start, losing key wickets early. Star batsman Virat Kohli (7 runs) and opener Devdutt Padikkal (4 runs) departed quickly, followed by captain Rajat Patidar (12 runs) and Phil Salt (14 runs) within the powerplay.

However, Liam Livingstone played a crucial knock, scoring 54 runs, and combined effectively with Jitesh Sharma (33 runs) to rebuild the innings. Tim David also contributed significantly, adding 32 runs off just 18 balls, guiding RCB to a respectable total of 169.

Siraj Leads Gujarat’s Bowling Attack with Three Wickets

Mohammed Siraj was the standout bowler for Gujarat, picking up three wickets. Sai Kishore supported brilliantly with two wickets, while Arshad Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Ishant Sharma claimed one wicket each.

This comprehensive victory highlights Gujarat Titans’ formidable form in IPL 2025, with Jos Buttler’s consistent performance reinforcing their status as title contenders.
